In his latest effort, Pearlman (The Bad Guys Won!) tells the story of how the Dallas Cowboys went from being a league doormat to a Super Bowl–winning machine. It's the cast of characters that makes this story a page-turner, starting with controlling owner Jerry Jones; all-business coach Jimmy Johnson, who would cut a player without blinking; and star players Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith and Deion Sanders. Pearlman explores the many other people who bought into the philosophy that if you were going to be a Dallas Cowboy... you needed to live the life—and that meant, in the early '90s, plenty of infidelity, cocaine, nightly trips to gentleman's clubs and hangovers at practice. Pearlman interviewed nearly 150 members of the Cowboys organization for the book, but much of the terrific detail comes from such tangential folks as journalists, players' wives and staff at the local Cowboys restaurant. The anecdotes range from uplifting (the heartwarming story of quarterback Troy Aikman granting a wish to a dying boy) to raunchy (defensive end Chris Haley, while playing for the 49ers, often masturbated in the locker room). In the end, Pearlman has produced a narrative that is as entertaining as it is insightful. (Sept.)

When the first chapter of a non-fiction football book starts off with future Hall Of Fame receiver Michael Irvin stabbing a teammate in the neck with a scissors... and blood is shooting all over the room... and the intensity of the lurid details... on and off the field... regarding the famed "dynastic" Dallas Cowboys of the 1990's... never lets up for the next three-hundred-fifty-eight pages... you know you've got a great book in your hands. Any true football fan, regardless of what team you root for will want to read this book. There are so many riveting... outlandish... insider... stories... that you will constantly want to stop reading for a moment or two... just to call one of your buddies to tell him what you just read!

This book has it all. From the "humble" beginnings (as far as wins and losses that is... nothing about any of the key individuals in this story could ever be considered humble!) concerning the 1989 Cowboys who had a one-win fifteen-loss season... to the three-time Super Bowl Champions. The author smoothly gives you detailed background information on everyone from owner Jerry Jones to coach Jimmy Johnson to Troy Aikman/Emmitt Smith/Michael Irvin/Nate Newton/Charles Haley/Deion Sanders... and every Cowboy large... small... or in between... who effected the team on or off the field... good or bad. Absolutely no punches are pulled.

From drug busts, that included Michael Irvin and teammate Alfredo Roberts being caught with 10.3 grams of cocaine, more than an ounce of marijuana, assorted drug paraphernalia and sex toys... and oh yea... two strippers... to shocking exposes regarding eventual FIVE-TIME-SUPER-BOWL-CHAMPION Charles Haley who would expose himself... and "pleasure-himself"... in front of teammates in the locker room... training room... and meeting rooms... to famous quotes from players, that truly thought they were above the law, are provided... such as when three-hundred-sixty pound Nate Newton said: "WE'VE GOT A LITTLE PLACE OVER HERE WHERE WE'RE RUNNING SOME WHORES IN AND OUT, TRYING TO BE RESPONSIBLE, AND WE'RE CRITICIZED FOR THAT, TOO."

Did you know that when former Cowboy owner Bum Bright sold the team to Jerry Jones... that one of the conditions of the sale was that Jones had to fire Tom Landry? Landry was probably the most popular man in Texas, but Bright couldn't stand him. How did the Cowboys code of ethics compare to other big name NFL teams? One Cowboy said: "WHEN I WAS WITH THE REDSKINS COACH GIBBS WOULD SAY, "OK FELLA'S, DON'T MESS WITH STREET DRUGS OR STEROIDS, BECAUSE THAT'S NOT HOW WE DO THINGS HERE." Barbara Mertz is a New York Times bestselling author who writes the popular Amelia Peabody mystery series under the pen name Elizabeth Peters and romantic suspense novels as Barbara Michaels. She was born and brought up in Illinois and earned her Ph.D. in Egyptology from the University of Chicago's famed Oriental Institute. Loved it. This book is actually a textbook, but it's the most interesting textbook I've ever read. It really gives you a "feel" for daily life in ancient Egypt.

A book to love on many levels of interest

Barbara Mertz is also the real name of writers Elizabeth Peters and Barbara Michaels. She has written 37 books in the popular Amelia Peabody series (Amelia is a Victorian Egyptologist and archaeologist) and 29 suspense books as Michaels. Mertz received her doctorate in Egyptology in 1952, and her first book published was Temples, Tombs, and Hieroglyphs: a Popular History of Egyptology. Her first novel was published in 1966. This is the second edition of Black Land, Red Land, originally published in 1978.

This well-written and readable book is an excellent source of information on life in ancient Egypt. Mertz covers everything, including childhood, pets, women and queens, clothing, jewelry and cosmetics, towns and houses, education, magic, religion, science, medicine, mathematics, pyramid building, boats, mummification and tombs. All are fascinating, though my personal favorite is the chapter on painting and sculpture, and the Amarna period. The XVIII Dynasty has always fascinated me: the time of Queen Hatshepsut, Akhenaton, and Tutankhamon. It is difficult to imagine a kingdom and society that lasted for nearly 4,000 years; the U.S. is an infant in comparison. There is a chronology, map, notes, and a list of books for further reading. The line drawings and photographs enhance the text perfectly.

Readers of the Amelia Peabody and Vicky Bliss mysteries, anyone longing to travel to see the ancient wonders of Egypt, or anyone with an interest in archaeology, will love this book.

As a Former Expat Who Lived 15 Years in Egypt, I Found this a Fresh, Remarkable Approach.

Bearing in mind that I lived and worked in Egypt for nearly 25 percent of my 62 years on this planet. Well, 25 percent unless someone can somehow prove that I am a reincarnated pharaoh or visiting spaceman.

Readers of this book will appreciate my humor, as I also am confident the author would, were she to read this review.

One of the many bits of her wry humor was when she warns the squeamish to skip her description of a particularly gruesome bit. The then jabs the reader halphway through, stating, I told you...

Barbara Mertz is my type of writer. If I ever get off my duff to write of modern Egypt, i will want to appeal to the same mindset Mertz so gracefully educates regarding a topic that usually is rather dry. Well, it is dry if the writer is trying to stay close to the serious observations and discoveries.

Perhaps that dryness is why so many less serious and less informed writers author the, uh, aw, the heck with it, let's call it what it is, the kooky fantasy tales of the occult and visitors from some far flung Galaxy.

I have a somewhat vast library regarding ancient Egypt. I've taken two magnificent cruises to visit the tombs and temples between Luxor and Aswan, plus once visited Abu Simbel. Yet, I gained unspeakably more understanding from this one book, including the audible.com version narrated by Lorna Raver. Indeed, Raver did a terrific job of narration.

As a former expat having resided 15 years in Egypt, I found this to be a remarkable, fresh approach to teach us about ancient Egypt.

Therefore, I not only enthusiastically rate this at five stars. I recommend getting the Kindle book plus Whispersync so you can listen when you don't have time to read the book. I'd give Red Land, Black Land 10 stars if I could. Belongs in every historian's library.

What's more, I intend also to buy a printed copy next payday. It IS that good, for me anyway.

An interesting overview of a very dynamic space

It can be hard to justify buying a book about a place as fluid and temporal as Second Life. In a world with a constantly-shifting, user-created landscape, what could one write that will be of any use in the next few years?

Given this challenge, Wagner James Au crafts an excellent book about the history and nature of Second Life. Leveraging his status as a former employee and virtual embedded journalist, Au shares with the reader his well-researched subjective viewpoint into a world of fluid forms and fluid personalities. Touching on such topics as the economy, socialization, politics, the nature of self, and the interaction between the real world and the artificial one, the book weaves a narrative that is one part company history, one part personal experience, and one part industry commentary.

While the book overall is an interesting read, I found myself having to swallow some significant typos and informational errors. This is a pet peeve of mine, and I feel the book really could have used a second editorial pass and some fact-checking (for instance, the 3D embedded content viewer inDuality ([...]) is made by Pelican Crossing, not Penguin Crossing). Print is not the web, and sadly, once one publishes an edition of a book with this many errors, it's published forever.

But if you have a tolerance for typos and a willingness to do your own fact-checking (which will be necessary anyway, given the changeable nature of the subject matter), this book is a good read and can serve as a starting point for further forays into the field of 3D interactive worlds, and Second Life specifically.

Wagner James Au, as both journalist and end-user, is privy to two intertwining histories: that of the California startup Linden Lab and the rapidly expanding online virtual world of Second Life. His "The Making of Second Life: Notes from the New World" is a largely anecdotal account of these two histories. Whether by eye witness or a careful, thorough reading of Second Life's periphery blogosphere, Au does a nice job of synopsizing key moments in the evolution of Linden Lab and Second Life. He also qualifies his reporting by theorizing characteristics of human behavior in avatar form, i.e. his concept of Mirrored Flourishing where the user improves his or her physical world standing through interaction with virtual worlds. "The Making of Second Life" would benefit from closer reliance on empirical social science statistics and surveys---rather than largely anecdotal observations---for drawing conclusions about behavior in virtual world. However, despite this aside, Au's work is rife with rich, colorful accounts of the larger-than-life personalities and events in Second Life. It is an invaluable primer for anyone interested in Second Life history from an author who has been there since its inception.

The Making of Second Life is THE book you want to read before any other book about Second Life. Whether you are a 'Second Lifer' or just a curious review reader without any Second Life experience- this book is a must read for anyone even remotely interested in simulated 3d experiences of any kind or even ways of transcending the human embodiment into flesh. It will give you a great insight into what Second Life is (do NOT assume upon the name!), and how Second Life became what it is today. From the conception of the idea, formation of Linden Lab, first residents experiences, romance, protests, war...a fantastic and upbeat read that doesn't ever stray away into 'too much geek talk' or leave you with questions unanswered. Wagner James Au (virtually responsive to the name Hamlet Au) has made a great contribution to the history of human virtuality by writing this book. Thank you.

Too Many Hands, Not Enough Soap

Talk about mixed feelings. On one hand, I was disappointed that Money for Nothing didn't spend more time describing the experiences of lottery winners. There's some of that in this book, but not much. On the other hand, I was fascinated to read about an entire industry that I had no idea even existed.

Then there's the tone of the book. On one hand it often reads like something from the 1950s, a hard-driving salesman who parties in Vegas and motivates himself by screaming "I am King Kong!". But on the other hand, Ugel also sounds like a nerdy Gen X-er who thinks too much, like someone from This American Life, a show he's written for.

Ugel works for a company that pays lottery winners a lump sum for their future payments. He never divulges how much the company pays the lottery winners, because they pay as little as they can get away with. It depends on how much the lottery winner needs cash and how skilled the salesman is. Using California as an example, let's say you win a jackpot of 26 million dollars. If you take the annual payment option, the Califonia Lottery will pay you an average of a million dollars (before taxes) per year for 26 years. The Lottery doesn't actually have the 26 million now, but if they invest about 13 million (depending on current interest rates) now, they'll be able to pay you 26 million over 26 years. If you opt for a lump sum payment, they simply give you that 13 million now. Ugel's company does something like that for winners who don't have the lump sum option in their state or didn't when they won. He describes it as a service for people who want it. It would be a service, just like cashing checks or lending money can be a service. Except when it's those usurious check cashing places in the strip malls or loan sharks that charge exorbitant rates.

So on one hand, it's disgusting that Ugel spent years smooth-talking people into giving up their future winnings on some fast cash now, but on the other hand these lottery winners squandered a lot of money if they're so hard up they need to even talk to a Ugel or his oily colleagues.

I'm not the only one who's conflicted about this. Ugel spends much of the book justifying the business of buying out lottery winnings for pennies on the dollar. He also spends a lot of time wallowing in self-hatred for having being so successful at such a slimy occupation.

At one point Ugel describes having a ritual fried chicken dinner before closing on a big deal. "I was nervous and my palms were sweating. The sweat mixed with the grease from the chicken...I was a mess. I had to get out of there. I stopped into the bathroom and compulsively washed my hands, soap and water, soap and water, soap and water, trying to get rid of the grease." After reading Money for Nothing, I know how he feels. Kyle finds sanctuary from accusing students in the library as he looks for books that Jason read. Mr. Cordoba, the librarian, provides insightful reading material and eventually Kyle is able to deal with his feelings and recall what really happened. This multidimensional book is rich in details about friendships, families, and their responses to needless death. The characters are well developed through contemporary, earthy dialogue and realistic, often humorous situations. Kyle's relationship with Jason is revealed as usually tight but more recently disappointing as Jason migrated to a more popular crowd. Although sometimes overworked and obtrusive, the movie-scene technique provides a high-interest vehicle for Kyle to communicate his thoughts and feelings. Absolutely Soul Probing

This is a really AMAZING story and I HIGHLY recommend it! (And I'm actually pretty picky about what I read and what I like. Usually it's either fantasy or true life stories.)

In this case, it's neither. It's a YA (Young Adult) book about a boy who kills his best friend but suffers from post traumatic stress syndrome and can't remember how it happened, so he spends his time trying to remember the scene by writing in the styles of his favorite movie directors (i.e. there's Tarantino, Hitchcock). Kyle, the main character, is a real movie buff, so there are a lot of movie references in this book which I think really add to the story. (I love how everything ties in.)

When I was reading this book, I felt a real connection to Kyle's situation. Everyone has done something major in their lives that they wish they could "freeze frame" and "redirect" and "cut" and "delete" and just DO OVER! Because of this, despite being a "Young Adult" novel, I believe that the theme of this beautifully written story can touch anyone.

The last line of the book even made my eyes wet. (Which is not common for me.)

So if anyone's looking for a stunning book, please check it out. It's very soul probing.

Intensely excellent.

Losing your best friend hurts, when you lose him twice, as Kyle does, its so painful his mind refuses to allow him to remember what really happened the second time. He and Jason were besties, living less than a block from each other. Jason longed to become an artist, drawing ever more detailed comic characters. Both his little brother Chase and Kyle were drawn as super heroes, Chase as Kite Rider and Jason as Freeze Frame. Kyle's dream was to become a movie maker and he was obsessed with watching videos and trying to dissect them so he could understand how directors worked.
When Jason started hanging out with new friends, Kyle didn't know how to deal with it. On the surface, the friendship was still solid, but the less time they spent together, the more he started hurting inside. Jason comes over for a weekend visit and something terrible happens in the shed behind the house. Kyle snaps out of a shocked daze to see blood everywhere and Jason lying on the shed floor. He can't remember exactly what happened. One thing does become clear to him. Jason is dying and he's responsible.
What unfolds after this is painful to read at times, while sucking you in a bit more on almost every page. It made me feel intensely for Kyle. He doesn't question his responsibility, but his guilt and grief lead him to numerous choices and actions that upset others and make those who care for him question what's going on in his head. Lost hardly begins to describe how he feels and every time he attempts to recreate the events, switching from movie director to movie director, he ends up in freeze frame at the critical moment.
It takes his promise to protect Chase from bullying at the elementary school, the friendship of Mr. Cordoba, a most unlikely high school librarian, the friendship of Kohana, another teen who understands the role of outcast better than almost anyone and numerous talks to Jason in the graveyard for Kyle to put the pieces together. The result is healing, not only for him, but for almost everyone affected by this tragedy.
It's an excellent book for teens who have, or are grappling with guilt or remorse as well as those who like a book that hits the reader with an emotional body blow.

Impressive!

Impressive. This is the adjective that keeps popping into my mind when thinking about how to describe Freeze Frame by Heidi Ayarbe. Freeze Frame is about a teenage boy who kills his best friend with a gun. It’s disturbing that Freeze Frame is about a tragedy caused by the main character. Furthermore, for the bulk of the book we don’t even know if the death was intentional. Yet we still have to care for Kyle because we’re constantly in his head. That Ayarbe is able to pull off such a novel is impressive.

That isn’t all. For example, how did Ayarbe write over one hundred pages about just one week in Kyle’s life? Even if those chapters centered around the aftermath of the shooting — which includes Kyle’s arrest, trial, and initial meetings with his probation officer — it still blew me away how masterfully Ayarbe stretched such a short timeframe into so many pages. Just as amazingly, once Kyle returns to school and tries to settle back into routine, how does Ayarbe keep up the momentum? Consider that Kyle frequently escapes to his friend’s grave, thinks about ways to die, and relives that fateful day at the shed. Freeze Frame could have easily become a depressing and wallowing mess. Instead, Ayarbe introduces school bullies, an adult mentor in the form of a librarian, and Kyle’s new goal of becoming a protector of his best friend’s younger brother. Ah-ha, but here again Freeze Frame could have become another movie-of-the-week, wrought with heavy-handedness over its topic of teen violence. But it never did. In fact, even though Kyle’s mind regularly revisits the shooting, Freeze Frame felt to be just as much about family, fitting in, books, movies, moving forward, choices, and a thousand other things. Eventually Kyle also starts talking to a school outcast who likes to take photos of everyday sights, believing each one has a story. Finally, how did Ayarbe write about such a disturbing topic and yet manage to so intensely pull the reader into Kyle’s world? Whenever anything interrupted me during my reading of Freeze Frame, I felt a jolt — as if Kyle’s reality had become mine own. Even when the truth of that tragic day is finally revealed, I had no compulsion to shut the book. Because Freeze Frame is about more than that single life-changing moment. It’s also about the life that follows.

I do have two issues with Freeze Frame. The first involves an unwarranted change of heart by one of the significant adults in Kyle’s life. And the second is that Jeff’s death causes the few religious characters to abandon God, which may be a turn-off for some Christians.

Freeze Frame is a stellar novel about the mental anguish one can face during tragedy. Ayarbe never hurries her story, but at the same time she keeps the pace quick, making for an addicting read. As such, she is a novelist to be watched.

Intelligent ideas through the imagination of a western man

Mr. Hillman's early works are exciting reading, even today, some 25-30 years after their original publication. Here is a true scholar, in the old ways or classical sense. Mind you, I am not one. A visionary, a brave soul, a seeker, and never removed from life; Mr. Hillman remains fully immersed within it. I love this man for his courage, and his inspiring, challenging, and wholly imaginative ideas. If the word 'imagination' stirs something wonderful deep within you, read this man's work, please. For me, it seems this piece, together with 'Re-Visioning Psychology' and 'The Dream and the Underworld' bring together the author's core vision. Mr. Hillman of course, may disagree! A great man; an even greater contribution.

Myth, Psyche and Life

Hillman was fond of saying that everything from television to chicken feed is "myth." The ground under our feet, the stars in the sky, our names, our births, our lives and our deaths are saturated in myth. The soul, or psyche, both of which are tropes referring to the vast interiors of human experience, resonate with and move into and out of myth with each turning of the planet, indeed with each drawing in of breath. So of course any effort to engage the psyche in its content and motivations would have to be greatly influenced by the presence and effects of myth. Hillman's genius was always in moving into the ways psyche moves into myth as myth shapes and influences our lives and worlds. Myth is far more than we know, just as our lives and worlds are. This book, along with Revisioning Psychology, is one of Hillman's great screeds of myth as life, life as myth, and the soul - the inner human world of experience, feeling and consciousness - as that pearl of great price that makes us more that a few dollars worth of chemicals and few decades of life in our historical wasteland. It's Hillman at his best - a voice and a vision always worth wrestling with.

Then Ramon murders the wrong man in a drunken fight and takes off into the wastelands to avoid the Enye authorities. Once in the outback, he discovers he's not the only one trying to hide from the Enye—and that the deadly cat-lizards called chupacabras are far from the worst dangers on São Paulo. In music, supergroups of established artists are rarely greater than the sum of their parts. The same often goes for science fiction, but critics agreed that these three authors beat the trend by producing a tight, consistent novel. Whether because of Martinâ€™s decades of collaborative work, Dozoisâ€™s long career as an editor, or Abrahamâ€™s fresh prose style, every reviewer said the book seemed as if it were written by one person. The only complaint came from reviewers who had read an earlier, novella-length version of the story; they felt that expanding the story enriched it somewhat, but not by much. While it would be hard to match Hunterâ€™s Run with any of these authorsâ€™ previous works, it can certainly be called a successful experimentâ€"and a compelling SF novel.

Not "Song of Ice and Fire" or "Long Price Quartet"

I bought this book because I love George R. R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series (who doesn't? -- see A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 1)) and his student Daniel Abraham's excellent Long Price Quartet (see A Shadow in Summer (The Long Price Quartet)). I was not familiar with Gardner Dozois.

Do not expect either series. Sure, this is sort of a science fiction book, in that it takes place on a colonized planet, has an alien race that shuttles humans around, and vehicles that hover. This is the story of one man's flight from his crime, his discovery of and capture by another alien race, and his struggle to get free -- all the while having to come to terms with who he is, what is right and wrong, and where and how things belong. The evolution of this character in his struggle to survive is fascinating -- and while it sounds like a very introspective story, it's still a solid adventure.

This is a bit of a brainy book - folks who like Fantasy or Science Fiction for fast paced action may not like this. This is for people who like serious character and story development. And, of course, Martin just happens to be a master at that.

Hunter's Run is well plotted, fast paced and great entertainment

This is another book that I bought based solely on who wrote it. I love Martin and Abraham is also a great writer, though I had never heard of Dozois prior to this. I didn't know what I would think, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Hunter's Run has action, drama, humor and bizarre aliens; just about all you could ask for in a great sci-fi book. Is it a masterpiece? I still can't quite decide...

My favorite part of this book is what most reviewers seem to dislike the most: the main character. Ramon Espejo is a pretty despicable human being. He's a murderer and a criminal, but I'll be damned if he doesn't provide an entertaining point of view. Maybe I've gotten to the point where I've read too much typical fiction with do-gooder protagonists that an a**hole is just what I needed. And even if he is an a**hole, he is funny and has some great dialogue, especially with his travelling companion/captor (who for the sake of not spoiling, I will not reveal here.) And as the story progresses, even though he is still sort of despicable, he does have an epiphany of sorts that changes him as a person. On the basis of how he thought and how he acted, his decisions were believable and I thought his progression as a character was really well done.

The actual story, which I can't speak much on because I'd give it away, is also well done. It is a nice tight plot that flows well from start to finish. There is some good action and some crazy situations, but given the circumstances, there is nothing unbelievable. By the end of Hunter's Run, I was left a little disappointed that it had ended but in no way dissatisfied with the ending. There are no loose ends and it is its own complete story.

This really teeters on the edge between a 4 star and a 5 star book. I'd have to say I'll give it 4.5 stars and curse Amazon once again for not having a more intricate rating system. Pretty much the only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 is that considering the prose of Martin and Abraham, the writing could have been better. Don't get me wrong, the writing isn't bad, it's just not on par with Song of Ice and Fire or Abraham's very eloquent style in the Long Price Quartet. Toward the beginning of the story, the writing seemed a little lazy and hurried, like there were more details that could have been included. But as the story progressed and the main character began to develop, the writing almost seemed to get better, so perhaps all of this was intended. The same can almost be said about the story. It's rare that the reader actually wants more time to be spent in the development of the characters and setting before the story really gets started, but I felt at the beginning it moved a little too quickly. Once the story gets moving however, I forgot all about that. I think the only other thing that keeps it out of 5 star territory is that it's not quite as grand nor the scope quite as great as some of the books that I consider 5 star.

(Okay, so let's take a drunken a-hole down on his luck, a backwater prospecting planet, and some really bizarre aliens... go!) In any case, the outcome is great. Despite my somewhat indecisive misgivings, I'd recommend this book to any sci-fi fan.

Great Stuff

Usually a collaboration, and still more a three-way collaboration, is less than the sum of its parts. These three have produced a book as seamless and fresh as one by an individual writer -- and a very good one. It's an intriguing modern-space-opera setting, combined with a frontier tale and a 'first contact' story with some very intriguing aliens. But the hero (or given his character, the protagonist) steals the show even from the strange world aand stranger aliens. Bravo!

Weak plot in some ways, but engaging chemistry

Better written than the general run of romance novels, and with an engaging chemistry between the leads. The "bad guys" behave so stupidly that it pulled me out of the story, however. I kept thinking of how they should have proceeded -- how any halfway reasonable group would have proceeded -- and noting how it would have ended the book quite early. :> Still, I enjoyed this.

Let me tell you something about She Went All the Way: IT ROCKS!

It's so funny.

Lou - as succesful screenwriter -thinks nothing could get worse in her life, I mean, her actor boyfriend of ten years just eloped with an air head actress, and she is stuck in Alaska were she has to convince the director of one her screenplays not to blow a mine. And to get down to the set she has to share a ride with actor Jack, ex boyfriend of the actress with whom Lou's ex eloped with and star of the movie Lou wrote. Did I mention that Lou and Jack don't get a long one single bit?

Well, things look pretty bad already, and they do get worst when the pilot tries to shoot Jack and the helicopter ends up going down, leaving Lou and Jack alone in the frosty Alaskan outback! And things are just starting.

Follow them in their ride scapeing armed assasins and their search of safety. And their final realization of why they really do fight as much as they do.

Read it, you won't be dissapointed. THis book has it all!

And the Ending it's AWSOME!!!!!!!!

Good, but Meg Cabot has even better too

This was a wonderful book. Not quite as great as her books, The Boy Next Door, Boy Meets Girl, and Every Boy's Got One, but still a fun read.
